The first Aid allow those trained with the potentially lifesaving ability to assist an injured or ill
person during a variety of emergency situations. With this thought QMIS has taken an initiative to
train the members of school parliament and house captains along with few teachers, security
members and housekeeping members on First Aid .It was organised by St. John Ambulance
Association and facilitated by Mr.Siluvaimani, the Secretary and Mr.Jawaharlal,
the lecturer on 17 the July 2019 between 10am and 3pm.
The training focused on Aim of First Aid, how to perform CPR, and how it should be given in
different situations. The trainers educated the trainees on the kind of first aid that could be given in
case of electric shock, burns, fractures, snake bite etc. The session made a deep impact on the
children and they were well equipped on the knowledge to help people, suffering from accidents or
sudden illness.

To provide invaluable life skills to students and staff, the Health & Safety Committee at QMIS organized a training programme on First Aid. Through this training students learned the life – saving techniques required to deliver an early response in the occurrence of a medical emergency. The members who attended the training were exposed to a wide range of situations that helped in building their self-confidence and familiarity of how to deal with them swiftly, appropriately and professionally.
