Principle: This activity helps the children to find out the different kinds of teeth and the function of these teeth
Learning Outcomes: Children were able to identify the four types of teeth and function of each type of teeth
1. WHAT’S UP WITH SOLIDS
Principle: This activity involves understanding some of the important properties of solids. While performing this activity, the learners can identify the characteristic features, which will be helpful to identify solids from other states of matter, viz, liquids and gases.
Children were able to know that,
Objects can exist in state of solids, liquids, gases.
Solids are identified with unique set of properties such as shape, size, and texture.
In general, Solids retain their shape and size.
The solid particles are tightly held with each other and therefore cannot be compressed.
Principle: This activity involves a pencil with a ring magnet near its rear end. The pencil rotates in between 3 ring magnets attached to the rim of a glass.
Learning outcome: Children were able to understand the characteristic features of magnet- poles in different types of magnets.
Principle: This activity involves hiding a clip inside a kite sticker.- being attracted towards a strong magnet attached to a cut out of a boy. The set up looks as if the kite is floating in air.
Learning outcome: Children were able to demonstrate the effect of magnetic attraction within the magnetic field.
Principle: This activity involves performing test on two different types of soil provided in the kit, to understand the different properties of soil, like percolation rate of water in soil and absorption of water by soil.
Learning outcome: Children were able to learn about the characteristics of three types of soil namely clay, loamy, sandy soil. They were also able to study the properties of soil- percolation and absorption
Principle: This involves activity to understand all about the advantages of the tippy tap for washing hand and water conservations through making and testing their own tippy tap.
Learning outcome: Children were able to list the ways of water wastage at individual level. They also demonstrated ways to stop the water wastage. They also constructed a device to demonstrate the effective ways to water conservation.
Principle:This activity involves a device with two open rods . When the rod ends are placed on conductor or conducting material the LED glows and the buzzer blows depending upon the current carrying capacity of the material. Then they are placed on electrical insulator, the LED doesn’t glow and the buzzer does not blow
Learning outcome:The students were able to understand the difference between conductors and insulators. They were able to identify the conductors and insulators from their surrounding using a simple device
