The Gift of Life: Blood Donation Camp ‘17
“A Single pint can save three lives; a single gesture can create a million smiles.”
Every day blood transfusions take place that saves lives of many people all over the World. Donating blood is good for the health of donors as well as those who need it. It is important to know that human blood cannot be manufactured, people are the only source of it and that is why it is important to donate blood and help those in need.
Every year on 14th of June countries around the World celebrate Blood Donor Day (WBDD). Queen Mira International school tied up with Government Rajaji Hospital had organized a Blood Donation Campaign in the school premises on 17th June at 09.00 am. Prior to this, a consent form along with the pamphlet was issued to the parents through their wards in which the significance of World Blood Donor Day Celebration was mentioned.
Parents came in chunks after chunks proving that the parents of our students are responsible towards our society. The donors have increased significantly when compared to last year’s donation drive. The drive was handled very professionally by Dr. Sufiya and her team who were a part of the GRH, Madurai. Our young volunteers under the guidance of Mr. Bharath, Physical Director at QMIS showed splendid support, had immense pleasure and enthusiasm for working towards this cause. The team ensured that the parents and the staff were comfortable throughout the entire session. The refreshments served were highly appreciated by the donors. This drive marks yet another successful event in the history of QMIS.
“You don’t have to be a doctor to save lives. Just donate blood. It’s Safe, it’s Simple and it saves lives.”
