Navarathri is a celebration of nine nights for goddess Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswati which falls on Tamil month of puratasi every year. The story behind Navaratri is goddess Durga battles and emerges victorious over the Mahishasuran to help restore dharma. Navarathri spreads spirituality and wipes out all negativity.
To welcome spirituality and positivity we QMIS family joined hands in celebrated the Navarathri festival with grandeur from September 10 to September 18 .QMIS teachers involved themselves whole heartedly in decorating the campus, preparing thambhulam and prasadham. The traditional prasadham offered was navadhanya sundal. The intelligence of our ancestors behind such prasadham is, since puratasi is rainy season the boiled food gets digested easily than the fried food. Hence such sundal was offered to the people.
The nine steps Kolu was arranged magnificently with devotion in heart. Our beloved stake holders (parents) were invited and entertained through various performances like Singing, Classical dance, Veena performed by our QMIS children. The occasion filled with spirituality and belief. Parents shared their experiences about Navarathri festival. These nine days were celebrated with oneness and happiness. Special Vijayadhasami pooja and Aksharabhyasam was done on the final day to mark the auspiciousness and purity. As this day marks the commencement of education, many parents did attend this special pooja to get the blessing of goddess Sarawathi.
