Sangamam 2018 an amalgamation of arts
QMIS celebrated its 8th Annual Day celebration on 20th and 22nd of December 2018. The most looked forward to, event of the year is Sangamam – an amalgation of arts. Smt. Uma Kannan, The Vice President of Thiyagarajar College, Madurai and Thiru. A. Mayilvaganan, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic and Crime, Trichy, were the chief guests for day one of Sangamam.
The function was graced by the presence of Honourable Justice Thiru. Ramesh, Honourable Justice Smt. Nisha Banu and Justice Thiru. Velmurugan on the second day of Sangamam.
Our beloved Chairman, Dr. C. Chandran, Our Inspiring Director, Mr. Abinath Chandran and our Suave Principal, Ms. Sujatha Gupthan addressed the gathering.
The guests for the day gave an awesome speech insisting the importance of learning life skills and the great parental care to be given for the children of today as they take up a ‘stressful learning’ to compete in the competitive world.
The day started off with the rocking Sangamam teaser, created by Ricky and Kishore, Grade XI students of QMIS, followed by the prayer song. The Welcome Dance was just a tip of the iceberg, of what was to follow.
The enthusiastic students gave a colourful performances depicting the theme ‘Colours’ for day 1.
A strong “ Stop Violence against Women” message was delivered by the mimers of QMIS on both the days which kept the gathering feel emotional.
The event for the second day of Sangamam was based on the five elements earth, water, air, fire and ether which form the basis of life. The programs revolved round these elements and emphasized their importance for our existence and the necessity for us to nurture them
QMIS also introduced the possibility of enrolling for organ donation in its campus and honoured the staff who took the bold step of opting for the same. QMIS is also proud to have received the Educational World Award and the British council’s International Schools award this year. It was also awarded the Future 50 shaping schools, an award given by the univariety partnered with the Fortune India and PWC India.
The star performers among the students and the staff were appreciated with the certificates by the guests of the day. The English skit –Reveries of Chathrapathy Shivaji and Tamil Skit –Ashoka, gave an insight into our heritage. It was a mind blowing performance by the students with their different dances and skits. Altogether it was a grand success and an wonderful experience for those who performed and those who graced us with their presence.
