Queen Mira International School memorialized its 9 th Annual Day – Sangamam 2019 – an amalgamation of arts on the 20 th & 22 nd of December, 2019 with the most captivating themem ‘Celebrating Womanhood’. The setting up for the opulent occasion took its centre stage since the last week of November, 2019. From then on the stake holders had put in their heart and soul towards the triumph of this fantabulous carnival. In lieu to the name given, the two days programme obviously manifested the harmony that prevailed within the powerful & supportive Senior Management Team, the passionate Principals of Senior & Junior School, and the strenuous squad – the Sangamam Coordinators, the tempestuous teachers and the appealing and scintillating students.
Sangamam – Day 1
On the eve of 20 th December, 2019 – Friday, the campus was all set to reveal the miraculous performances of the students of Pre – K.G till Grade 3. The whole campus was alluring with celebratory whereabouts. The Former Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation and the Director General of National Human Rights Commission Padmashri Thiru D.R. Kaathikeyan, IPS presided over the first day of Sangamam 19. His confident posture and respectful gesture made most of us to consider him as role model. The students of Grade X to XII had an exclusive experience sharing interactive session with the guest in the morning. The session had actually boosted their responsibilities as citizens of India.
The President of Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam’s Vision 2020 – Thiru R.Thiruchenthuran graced the celebration as Special Guest. The cultural extravaganza began exactly at 04.45 pm as per the time decided without delays any. Right from the beginning till the culmination, we were able to sense the energetic and committed participation of the students. And this had played a predominant role in the success of the event. The Chief Guest & the Special guest had whole heartedly appreciated the school for its magnanimous growth within a decade. Adding to this appreciation they referred QMIS to be a model school. It was actually an awe-inspiring moment for all the QMIS’ians to receive such identification. Dr. C. Chandran in his Presidential Address proudly stated that the seed that was sown by him (the making of QMIS) had been thoroughly nurtured by the Managing Director – Mr. Abinath Chandran & Director Academics – Ms. Sujatha Guptan.
The Galore of cultural performances showcased the path traversed by women in various fields. The limelight of the celebration was the confidence that prevailed amongst the toddlers who gave performances right from the Welcome Classical Dance, Velunatchiyar Dance, Breath Takers, Women Warriors, Tribute to Teachers Dance, Mother Teresa Dance, Air Hostess Dance till the Finale dance performance which were a thorough feast to the eyes of the spectators. It could be rightly said as the multifarious qualities of women brought onstage. The characters of Mulan, Avvaiyar & Fairies Incarnation would stay in the hearts of the viewers forever. The Star Performers among the students of each grade, teaching and non – teaching members were entitled as the Shining Stars of the Year. The success of the grand event was eventually seen through the presence of the audience till the very end. The vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Haritha Kaushik– one of the Sangamam Coordinators. The stakeholders dispersed with a sense of complete fulfillment.
Thus Sangamam 19 – ‘20 was certainly an amalgamation of the tremendous performances of the future leaders. Kudos to the entire Team QMIS for portraying yet another victorious event under the leadership of the instant valour Mr. Abinath Chandran, the Managing Director & Ms. Sujatha Guptan ,the Director – Academics , the guidance of the Principals of Junior & Senior School Ms. Kalpana Karthick Somasekar & Ms. Christinal Shanthi and the supportive squad – the coordinators’ of the event Ms. Haritha Kaushik, Ms. Selvi Balasubramanian, Ms. Anita Rajesh & Ms. Praveena Rajan. We owe a lot to Almighty for his incessant blessings and our ancestors for their benevolence.
