“A woman is clothed with strength and dignity and she laughs without the fear of future“
A universal event to celebrate women’s achievements – the International Women’s Day was celebrated at our school premises on 10th March, 2014.
With the theme of this year 2014 “Inspiring Change” in mind, some of our influential women were collated to inspire the gathering into making the change and chasing after their career dreams!
The event started traditionally with a prayer song followed by the lighting of Kuthu vilakku by our parents.
The first session was on “Women’s Health as Nation Health” by Dr.Sujeetha Swaminathan, Gynecologist Apollo Hospital, Madurai. Importance of regular health checkups and awareness on breast cancer and Heart attacks were shared in this session.
The second session was on “Women Empowerment” by Mrs.Rajkumari Jeevagan, Chairperson of “WE (Women Entrepreneurs)’’ forum of Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Madurai. The magnitude of this session was that a woman should not be job seekers but job creators. Mrs.Rajkumari explicated that the real success of a woman is her ability to balance between her family and work.
The third session was on “Positive Parenting” by Dr.Dheep, Psychiatrist, Topkids. His speech was a back up for the gathering to know their significant role as a parent than being a friend.
As cookery and craft are always close to women, the last session of the day was the craft session by Mrs.Mythili kannan. The audiences were engaged in Mural Painting. The session reinforced that a hobby itself can reform our life because being crafty isn’t just t a hobby but a way of our life.
“All is well that ends well”
This momentous occasion not only made us enthusiastic but instilled our minds with good memories.
