Camping at Yercaud-Grades 4 to 7-Oct 13
Report on the Camp to Yercaud
To sojourn in the deep woods is the paradigm we believe that would inculcate the value of protecting Mother Nature amongst our tenderfoot tutees. That idea incubated the genesis of The Adventure club in the famed institution, QMIS. The said club amalgamated with Youreka, which has hands on experience on the adventure activities in the woods. Diverging from the common practice of sightseeing trips which other academies offer, QMIS stands unique in organizing adventure trips head on, on a yearly basis.
The adventurous tour for the students of grades IV to VII was planned from 13.10.18 to 16.10.18. On the 13th of October the school was buzzing with the arrival that started at 9 am sharp and proceeded to the designated venue at the woods near Yercaud, nestled in cushioned seats of air conditioned buses. The cartage terminated at the base camp of the site and the campers consisting of 28 students and five teachers walked through the rugged but made-up path to their allotted tents.
The next couple of days saw intense activities from the tender hands. The trainers were awestruck by the vigour shown by the young Tarzans in accomplishing the tasks bestowed upon them with ease. Be it the rock climbing or the stream walk or trek in the woods, the young warriors breached the citadels with ease. The varieties of food which included Paneer masala, various lentils, bread omelets, variety rice and so on and so forth were assimilated with the sweat that emanated ensuing adventure activities, despite the dormant chillness pervading in that height of the mountains.
