At the Erudite club we have been taking measures in implementing various activities to enhance the English language skills of our students. Public Speaking is the most important criteria to succeed in this present world .But many of us have a shy to speak in public and tend to get frightened when you see audience. To remove the fear of Public Speaking, a special session “I am an Orator!” was conducted for students of Grades 3 to 5. The qualities of an orator were discussed with the children. The students were motivated on the qualities that they should posses to develop their speaking skills. How generally the audience should be faced in the gathering and how the communication should happen are some of the things that were discussed. Every student was given an opportunity to talk about any topic in the class. The children thought themselves as an orator and they came and performed in front of the class. Children were able to keep their class mates attentive by inserting topics and some calculated humor in their presentation. This boosted the orating skill of a child. There were some students who delivered their speech with utmost passion and conviction. Children who found Public Speaking a challenge came out of their shells.
