Aadukalam march 18 – Day 1

Sports day is a platform to showcase the talent and efforts put in by the little children to make success. “Aadukalam 2017-2018” our Annual Sports meet had a great start on Monday 19th March, 2018 for graders KG to grade 3. Sports at pre-primary level is not about competition. It is about having fun, being physically active, learning the basics of sports and building co-ordination and motor-skills and so to give the little angels an opportunity to display their self – confidence, patience, zeal and sportsmanship.
The day started off with the lovely rendition by the choir to pay salutations to the Lord Almighty. Ms Kalpana Karthick the vice principal of QMIS welcomed everyone to the sports meet The chief guest for the day was Mr. Vadivel Baluchamy- the biker. The students entered into the spirit of the occasion in a grand way by the Olympic torch relay done by the young achievers of QMIS followed by the oath taking ceremony of the young athlete’s. The chief guest of the day declared “Aadukalam 2017-‘18” open.
It was a delight to see the excitement with which children challenged themselves to attempt. Various events like hurdles, aiming the target, running were conducted for the students. The day was filled with fervour and excitement, experienced amidst thrills, shrills and cheers.
The collective energy of the children, facilitators and the parents added up to an energetic and fun filled day of celebration. The young achievers were awarded with Gold, Silver and Bronze medals and with the certificates by the chief guest, who highly appreciated each sports star and applauded the visionary element of the school which nurtures and develops their potential in the sports field. 60 mts for the mothers and shot put for the father warriors were also conducted. This encouraged the little ones even more. The fantastic turnout from the parents and the pleasant weather were the perfect boost for the students on their very first sports day.
The day was filled with sportsmanship, enthusiasm and memories to cherish. The co-ordinator of the pre-primary level of this esteemed institution, Ms Fatima thanked all the teaching and non- teaching members of QMIS family for their cooperation and support and advised children to keep up their sportsman spirit.
