“Education without application is just entertainment.”
Field trips are moulding experiences for students. Acquiring knowledge in the classroom and field
provides exposure for holistic growth of the child. It enhances interest towards learning. With this
objective, Grade 3 children set off on a field trip to SNP Dairy factory. A team of 83 students along
with 8 teachers set off on this voyage.
In this field trip the children were able to witness Production, Testing, Condensing, Refrigeration and
Packing. Before they entered the factory, their HR team briefed us about the history of their factory
and process we were going to witness during the day. Excitement and energy was palpable among the
SNP Dairy factory committed to the supply of quality and hygienic milk processing and supply of
pasteurized and standardized milk apart from this, they offer best grade Milk, Ghee, Butter, Paneer
and Palkova. Students visited different sections of SNP dairy milk factory and gained knowledge
regarding diary processes.
The different units in the diary factory were witnessed by the children are Pasteurizer Unit
performing pasteurizing process continuously so that milk is disinfected of bacteria. Different
machineries separate milk as standardized milk, toned milk, full cream milk, Skimmed milk.
Condensed milk plant performs toning. Classifier Unit separates solid impurities from the flow of
milk. Refrigeration system is fully automated without Ice Bank Tanks in order to provide instant
cooling. Packing unit prints and labels the packages.
Overall it was a wonderful experience for the students and they were delighted in sharing thanked
and shared their experience with the proprietor. It was a great step towards learning a new field.
