Independence Day Report
It was a red letter day in the history of India, when the country got her freedom on August 15th, 1947. To celebrate this national event, QMIS organized the Independence Day Celebration. After enormous struggle & sacrifices of Indian freedom fighters, India became independent. This special occasion is an eye opener for all of us. The 72nd Independence Day ceremony started with a calm and peaceful atmosphere. To commemorate the sovereignty of our nation, the chief guest Subedar Subramani unfurled the tricolor flag and all in unison sang the National Anthem and expressed the joy of our freedom. Calvin, the school head boy led the pledge as a tribute to our motherland. Ms. Sujatha Guptan, Principal welcomed the gathering with her ever charming smile and her patriotic speech.
DR.C.Chandran, the chairman of the institution honoured Mr.Subedar Subramani and Hawildar Mahalingam with a memento as a token of love. Mr.Abinath, the director of the institution honoured the gunners Thirumeni and Muniyandi.
Our young and energetic students Harshit and Ajay were honoured by Mr.Abinath and Dr. C. Chandran for their creative contribution on the Independence Day invitation.
There was a rainbow of cultural programs prepared under the able stewardship of the team. An inspiring speech was given by Krithika that awakened everyone’s feelings towards our motherland. The newly elected student council performed a splendid slow march parade and Head Boy Calvin Bernard and Head Girl and Anchana Guptan were pinned with the badges by our beloved chairman .The house mistress of Aryabatta Ms. Parashakthi pinned the badges for the Captain and Vice-captain of the house Aravind and Krithika, followed by Ms Praveena, who pinned the badges for the captain and Vice Captain of Bhaskara, Rakshitha and Shruthikaa .The team Charaka was led by Yogeshwari and Varun whose badges were pinned by Mr.Roger. Finally Ms.Haritha pinned up the badges for the Captain and Vice-captain Akshaya and Alvina. Donning the mantle of responsibility, a pledge was taken to dispense their duties to the best of their abilities and abide by rules and regulations of the school.
The flags were handed over to the captains of the house. A short and inspirational address by our chief guest Mr.Subedar Subramani instilled the patriotic fervor. A special honouring was done for the home guards Mr. Mariyappan and Mr Rajasekaran for training the student Council .
Bharathiyar song by Sudhir gave goosebumps to the audience. The young and energetic kids of QMIS preformed yoga on this big day and proved that yoga is the addition of energy, strength and the beauty to body, mind and soul.
The program was rejoiced and enjoyed by all present there. Finally the day came to an end with the vote of thanks which filled everybody’s hearts with happiness, spirit, enthusiasm and fullness.
