Education is shared commitment between dedicated teachers, motivated students and enthusiastic parents with high expectation.
Researches have shown that parental involvement is the most important factor in a student’s success in school. We at Queen Mira International School always have our doors open for the parents. As it is the onset of Term II, it is the right time for the teachers and the parents to find out where exactly their child is and where his/her focus should be for the next term. Keeping this as the purpose, Parent teacher conference Phase 1 was held on 7th of November. The parents of Kinder Gardeners, grades I, IV, V and VIII were the participants. Around 270 parents walked in with enthusiasm as per the time slot allotted for them. As we know that the parent teacher conference offers great opportunities to deepen working relationship with parents, the strengths of the child, academic and social concerns and information about the child development were discussed and we could see the parents coming to see the teachers as an ally and themselves as true partners in their child’s progress. The conference turned out to be a pleasant meeting that reinforced a team approach that supported the students, ongoing success.
