Pongal Celebration report
Pongal festival was celebrated on 12th January 2019. The Department of Tamil conducted the festival in a grand manner. The event started with the prayer song.Ms.Kasthuri and Ms.Murugeshwari spoke about the importance of festivals and how the festivals keep us connected with our roots, culture and origin. Festivals teach us to forget enmity and embrace one another and create a bond of love. The guest speaker of the day Mr.Kalaivanan was honoured by Ms.Kalpana. He spoke about the importance of agriculture to the students. Agriculture is the noblest profession even though there are so many other occupations. He was running a business abroad. His passion towards farming made him to come back to his motherland and do agriculture. Farming is more a way of life than an occupation.Ms.ParvathyRajendran spoke about the current status of agriculture and shared her opinion with the students.
Grade wise Pongal was prepared by the teachers in a traditional way and was distributed to the students. The students were involved in various competitions like Uri adithal, Rangoli, Kabadi and other cultural events. The celebration came to an end with a Throwball match between the Students and Teachers.
