“Education is a shared commitment between dedicated teachers, motivated students and enthusiastic parents with high expectations.”
Parent-teacher conferences are a wonderful opportunity to extend lines of communication between home and school, keep parents informed about their children’s progress—both academic and social—and for developing cooperative strategies that can ultimately benefit every student.
PTC – Phase 2 for graders 6 to 8 was conducted on 02.12.17 . Parents started walking-in at 9’o clock to collect the progress report and to discuss about their child’s progress in all areas. The enthusiasm and the curiosity among the parents to know their child’s development resulted into the turnout of 78% . Parents are the stake holders of an educational Institution, with QMIS becoming a member of CIS (Council of International Schools), It was necessary to educate the parents regarding its accreditation Process. An orientation was also scheduled for few parents who could not attend the session in Hotel Heritage due to their inconvenience. All together the day went on very smoothly with the positive response of parents as the areas that needed more attention were discussed in a very convincing manner.
To support our students academically in and out of school, teachers and parents need to have a shared understanding of their children’s learning and work as partners to meet their academic and social-emotional needs.
