November 21: Madurai, Queen Mira International School took up a celebratory whereabouts on the dawn and the campus was filled with the buzzing sounds of the little and innovative bees who were ready to compete with their counterpart. It was “The Little Emperors” event, where Kindergarten children of 54 schools in and around the temple town displayed a zealous performance and awestruck the audience. The event partnered with The Hindu & Team Chrysalis lured in an audience crowd of around 1500 members. The energetic and the responsible mentors were on their toes encouraging their little wards. The delightful day gave its kick off with the pious prayer song followed by a warming welcome dance of the host school that added beauty to the place . The humble inauguration began with the lighting of the kuthuvizhaku by the Parent representatives of the QMIS school.
The assorted thirteen competitions designed appropriate to their age, took its charm in the respective venues which had the little ones’ favourite name tags as Disney Land, Cartoon Network and Folktale zones. Event gained its momentum with the petite & spirited toddlers passionate performance. The mega event came to the closing stages within a wink of an eye. The most awaited award ceremony was presided over by Dr.Chandran, the Chairman of Queen Mira International School and Ms.Hamsa Priya, Principal of Mahatma School in the presence of the Managing Director Abinath Chandran and Principal Sujatha Guptan of Queen Mira International School . The contested school personnels and the accompanied parents where on the edge of their seats eagerly awaiting the momentous prize distribution ceremony. The array of talents were adjudged perfectly. Individual performances were duly acknowledged with Certificates and Medals. Velammal School, Theni took the accolade of overall first place , Velammal Vidyalaya, Viraganoor took the credit of overall second place and the Vallaba Vidyalaya, Madurai was awarded with the overall third place. Winners were awarded with Trophies, Certificates and also a cash award of Rs. 25,000 for the First place, Rs.15,000 for the Second place and Rs.10,000 for the third place.
